Dr. Arlene Holmes-Henderson, Principal Investigator, Senior Research Fellow in Classics Education
Arlene read Classics at St Hilda’s College, Oxford before starting post-graduate research at Harvard University as the Saint Andrew’s Society of the State of New York Scholar. She returned to Trinity College, Cambridge where she completed her PGCE (Latin, Classical Greek, Ancient History and Classical Civilisation). Thereafter, she taught Classics in both Scotland and England while studying for her Doctorate in Education at the University of Glasgow. A specialist in Classical and heritage language education, Arlene serves on a number of qualification advisory boards and curriculum design councils and has an extensive list of publications in the areas of language pedagogy and international education.

Steve Hunt
After completing his PGCE Steve taught Classics for 20 years in comprehensive schools in Greater and Inner London and in rural Hertfordshire. Specialising in Latin, he also taught Ancient Greek, Classical Civilisation and Ancient History from GCSE to A-level. For eight years he was a mentor for the PGCE in Classics at Cambridge, and he became the course leader in 2008. Steve has a particular interest in the teaching of Latin language and the ways in which pupils can access and develop their understanding of the Roman world through exposure to original source material. He is the author of 'Starting to Teach Latin' (2016) and the co-editor of 'Teaching Classics with Technology' (forthcoming).

Dr. Mai Musié
Mai is the Public Engagement Manager at the Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford, UK. Mai has over fifteen years’ experience in outreach work with HE institutions and statutory bodies, and has organised and co-ordinated mentoring and literacy programmes, summer schools and employability projects. After completing her BA in Classical Civilisation and MA in Ancient History, Mai went on to complete a PhD in Greek Literature, focusing on race and ethnicity in the ancient Greek novels.Together with Arlene Holmes-Henderson and Steve Hunt she is the co-editor of 'Forward with Classics. Classical Languages in Schools and Communities' (2018).
